Life May Fade Away, but Love Will Stay the Same

Life May Fade Away, but Love Will Stay the Same—
A Donation in the Name of a Beloved One Pays the Love Forward Far Across the Sea

Two months ago, far across the sea from the United States there’s a message sent to the mailbox of L.C.O., Animal 119 in Taiwan. The letter was sent by a lady of a company in California, and she was very humble to inform us that they were interested in making a donation to L.C.O. and would like to give it on behalf of a beloved grandmother who just passed away.
This was certainly an encouraging and exciting message to L.C.O. The news was soon reported back to the Headquarter and became a hit discussion among all the staffs. Everyone all felt admiration and respect for the donator.
Based on the spirit of “Love in Human Beings; Affection in Cats& and Dogs,” we were more happy than receiving a donation in the name of a beloved one because we understand the yearning for spreading the love. Therefore, we replied to the lady and informed them that we’d like to write this donation into our monthly magazine, and share this boundless love with all of our dear readers.
Throughout the two months of diligent correspondence and communication, we were happy to have assisted the lady to accomplish the overseas donation process, and learn a slightly more about this deeply missed grandmother:
Lady Hsien-O Sun Yang was the grandmother of a valued employee in a company in California. Ms. Yang loved animals very much and had always kept an eye on the stray cat situation in her homeland, Taiwan. Therefore, after Ms. Yang passed away, the people who cherished her a lot decided to make an overseas donation to our flurry friends in Taiwan on behalf of Ms. Yang’s name, hoping to remember this warm and passionate grandmother and extend her love far across the sea back to the many little lives in Taiwan.
This is the loving story attached along with the donation. Let us share it with you.
Donation in Memory of Ms. Hsien-O Sun Yang
We are both honored and humbled to be able to make this donation in the name of Hsien-O Sun Yang. Ms. Yang was a beloved grandmother to one of our valued employees. We have chosen this organization as Ms. Yang loved all animals, but especially cats. When Ms. Yang became too ill to take care of her cat, her family had to find a home that would take good care of the cat for her. We know that Ms. Yang is still be keeping an eye on this cat in her own way, and we think she would be pleased with our choice regarding this donation.
We L.C.O. would like to express our profound gratitude and respect to Ms. Hsien-O Sun Yang and the ladies and gentlemen who have assisted to accomplish this donation. Thank you for your support, and thank you for the love you spread on our animals!
L.C.O. currently is working on expend the overseas window, including English Official Website and English blog. Moreover, we are actively discussing the matter of cooperation and donation with many of the animal protection organizations or companies overseas. Hope by doing so, we could gradually extend our spirit and love to the world, increase the adoption and donation rate, and share the stories of our animals and rescue experiences with more and more people. We will continue on our mission of loving animals because we firmly believe that: Love will not be limited by languages, nor will it be separated by nationality.

Accompany Dog Program on the Go!

In the view of our founding missions and goals “Love in Human Beings, Affection in Cat & Dogs,” which aims to spread the love to all kinds, we firmly believe that taking care of every life is an inevitable social responsibility that L.C.O needs to take. Therefore, it is curtained that on facing the problem of aging population and low fertility in the coming future, we will strive to put more focus on the welfare of senior citizens.

Nowadays in Taiwan, it is reported that instead of the need of material life, it is the mental support and the need of company that many senior citizens are lack of. Hence, L.C.O. Alliance has demanded the New Taipei Branch and Taipei City Branch to cooperate on the training of the accompany dogs, hoping to help provide the senior citizens a warm company in the future.

When taking care of the accompany dogs, giving the dogs a sense of belonging, the elders can also enjoy a hearty and secure feeling from the company of the dogs. Based the above consideration, L.C.O. wishes to establish a mutual care between human and animals and solve the problems caused by the stray dogs.

Shiba Inu: 3 Years Wandering Away from Home because the Animal Shelter did not Scan the Microchip

Found its way back home on doing the rescan for being dumped by the second owner

By ZENG, JIA-JUN
Published: March 12, 2012, by Apple Daily
NEW TAIPEI CITY— Three years ago, Ms. Liang’s dog went missing. The female Shiba Inu was captured by the dog squads and taken back to the Chunghe Animal Shelter. However, the animal shelter didn’t follow the procedures to scan the microchip for the captured dogs; instead, they treated all of them as stray dogs and soon found the Shiba Inu two new adopters right away. It was not until few days ago when the Shiba Inu got dumped again could it have chance to receive a rescan and thus find its way back to its original family miraculously.
The story was revealed later by an animal protection volunteer on the Internet, describing the tear-moving moment of the reunion and even referring its journey to the Japanese legend, Tale of Hachiko. The story has aroused high attention among the animal lovers and pet keepers, and they are desperately appealing the government to take actions on this issue.

【Sharing from Ms. Hong】Stand for TNR- Handmade Catnip Pillow, Cushion, and Tunnel

On the moment of receiving the package from Ms. Hong, I was too excited that I couldn't wait to open the box until I reach home.
So I happily opened the box right at the parking lot of the convenient store.
How I enjoyed the moment!!! \(^O^)/

This was how my package looked like!
What an environmental friendly package!
In order to make the best use of everything and not causing waste, Ms. Hong used tap to fix all the holes on the old paper box.
The tunnel I ordered was put neatly in the plastic bags.

Donations from Tears and Love

Throughout these 7 years, L.C.O. has received so many donations from household to corporations, domestic to overseas.
Some donate goods; some donate money.
Behind every donation there's a wish and hope.
Behind every donation there may be a story of tears and love.
We would like to thank you for all the support these years.
Together we'll walk on the same path of respecting life.
Together we'll share the same meaning of life.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Along with the goods donations, we found a note on a red envelope, and here it goes:
"My baby dog flies to be an angel now. I think she won't be able to use these clothes anymore. I sincerely hope these goods along with this money could do a little help to other dogs who are in need."

Deepest Appreciation to L.C.O. for Rescuing Our Parrot!!

From: "~ Shiao-Mo~a04090223@yahoo.com.tw
To: "L.C.O." service@lco.org.tw

Dear L.C.O.
Yesterday our parrot flew away from my house due to my carelessness.
But luckily today (01/21/2012) I received a call from a Miss, saying that she had found where my parrot was. She asked us to make a call to Mr. Chung, and we soon found that it was staying on the tree near the parking lot of  Intercontinental ball park in Taichung.
However, they found it stuck in the branches because the rope on its leg got wound on the tree.
They told me that it ad been witnessed stuck there since yesterday afternoon and was seemly to be very weak.

Some of the people gathering there told me that they had made a call to 119 (the emergency telephone number operated by the National Emergency Management Agency,) but they just came for a while and then went back again.
Fortunately, later we made a call to the Taichung Branch of L.C.O. ,and there came a Mr. Su.
After he listened to our description, he immediately climbed up the tree and rescued my parrot down.
All the people there were move by his decision in the nick of the time; moreover, we are so impressed by the rescue profession of L.C.O. that we would like to show our deepest appreciation to you!

Thank you so much, and thank all of the people helping there that day, too!! Thanks again!!!

Sincerely Yours,
Ms. Sung

Date: Feb 1st, 01:43 a.m.
Location: Fuxing Rd., Zhongshan Dist., Keelung City

Situation [Reported by  Ren]:
After an exhausting day, I finally got back to our warm building. However, no more than 10 minutes, the phone rang again.
The reporter indicated that there was a wounded cat lying on the middle of the road.
They tried to rescue the cat, but were nearly hurt when catching it. They didn't know how to deal with it, so at last they made a call to our Animal 119.
After hearing this, I then responded, "Thank you, miss. I'm right on my way. Please help move that cat to the side of the road or somewhere safer first, and would you please tell me where you are now?  "

Who Did This to You!!!???

Date: 23:45 p.m, Jan 31, 2012.
Location: In the park on Datong Rd., Sanxia Dist., New Taipei City
Rescuer: Ren
Situation Reported by Ren:
The night when I was just got back to our Head Quarter, no sooner did I park my car had I received another call from a reporter. According to the reporter, there's a dog lying beside the wall of the park with eyes bloody red, face totally bruised, mouth bleeding, and was seemly on the edge of death.
Based on the description of the situation, at first I thought this was another case of car accident again. However, on the moment I got to the scene, I was shocked and left to speechless out of fury immediately. The dog was lying in the park where no vehicles could reach. It couldn't be a car accident. Near the dog I saw a section of broken water pipe. There was blood on it. The dog was lying with eyes bust out and blood on the ground, barely had breath.
This was a case of battery with intend to kill.
I couldn't describe how furious I was on seeing this. The only thing I could do on that moment was to take the dog into the rescue car and rush to the animal hospital at my fastest pace.

Human, how can you be such inhumanly cruel???!!!

[A Call to the L.C.O]Please Give A Hand to the Paralyzed Mother Dog!!!

January 1, 2012 [A Call to the L.C.O from the Witness, Ting-Ting]

Dear Animal 119,
Last week on the Provincial Highway from Sanxia to Tuchen, I saw a mother dog along with 8 baby dogs crawling on the ground beside the CPC gas station in the Sanxia Tsuchi Environmental Garden.
The lower body of the mother dog was totally paralyzed probably due to the car accident, and her baby dogs were just born with eyes not even open yet! They looked so poor!

Though I immediately sent them to the animal hospital, the vet could only give the mother dog a few shots of glucose, and ask us to pick her back a week later. I felt falling into a dilemma because I couldn't bring these lovely creatures home, neither could I find them an owner. Moreover, the puppies were just too young that they couldn't be separated with their mother. This was the first time I encounter this kind of situation, and I really, really had no idea on how to deal with it. So I could only go back to the place where I picked them and choose a roof shade for them to stay...
I really don't know if this is the best way to deal with this...

How are they going to survive? How can I help them to call for rescue? Please give us a hand...please...please!!!

Abandoned Chow Chow Waiting for Its Owner to Take It Home

Date: Dec 15, 2011
Location: Under the high speed rail of Tainan Station

We found a Chow Chow sitting under the bridge rail way desperately not knowing anywhere to go. He didn't make a move and just fixed his eyes on the crossroads waiting for his owner to come and bring him home.

He didn't have any idea that he had already been abandoned.

There are always many people walking under the shade of rail bridge. It's true that it seemingly nice place for abandoning your pet because, if lucky enough, your pet has a much higher chance to find a new adapter.  But do not forget, if not, your pet will go on stray. It will go on a lonely, dangerous, dirty, and miserable life. It could be harmed by intended people, it could suffer, and it could die.
Dear friends, please use your empathy, and listen to the voice of other living beings.
They were once your friends and family, and you are theirs, too. Can you imagine that one day you are also abandoned by your beloved ones?

Think twice!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Follow up: A very kind and hearted lady, Mis. Chi, gave a lot of effort in helping Chow Chow to   find a new owner after hearing its circumstance. Luckily, she found a generous doctor who is willing to adapt our furry friend without a second thought.
We'd like to give our deepest appreciation to Mis. Chi and the doctor for giving Chow Chow a prosperous new life. It's you that help make our mission complete!
